Food Truck Fly-In Tour
Five antique autos of various makes met behind the Shell station at the corner of Almaden Expressway and Blossom Hill Rd to caravan to the South County Airport for the Food Truck Fly-In. Club members, Bob & Pat Meneely, Frank Giordano & friend, Barbara Beach, Dan & Steve Gulko and Allan & Lucy Greenberg. We were met by club member Matt Allen & friend at the airport. We arrived at the Wings of History Air Museum parking lot and soon found out that other clubs were meeting at the airport side. So, we moved to that area to be all together. I had contacted Glenn Wildman a while back and invited the South Valley Model T Ford Club to join us. Driving cars in Glenn’s group were Vicki Wildman, Oliver Johnson, Willie Silva, Doug Buessing, Junior Moretti and Doug Helmuth. The vintage Chevrolet Club also brought some cars. There was a very large number of people attending this event. I was told that “people came for the food trucks and stayed for the air show”. There were a number of food trucks with a variety of food available. I found the lines a little (well a lot) too long for me.
We were treated to flying formations, flying acrobats, skydivers and paragliders. There were many airplanes to look at and many old cars. It was good seeing some friends from other clubs.
